Soda Blasting
Soda blasting is a method of non-abrasive cleaning using compressed air to blast using an spray of fine particles of sodium bicarbonate (also known as soda) mixed with water onto a dirty or tarnished surface using compressed air.
The soda mix is sprayed onto the article to be cleaned and allowed to dry. Soda blasting is often used for surface cleaning (or stripping) on materials where grit blasting, acids, or solvent based cleaners would be too damaging or unsafe to use.
Soda blasting is particularly effective at removing light rust, mill scale, spray-paint graffiti, and fire damage soot without damaging the article being cleaned and is particularly effective if any flash rusting is then treated with a rust converter prior to any repainting required.
